Screen and battery spread among the ranked phones
| Ranked phones | Range |
|---|---|
| Battery capacity | 5000 to 6000 mAh |
| Storage | 32 to 128 GB |
| Screen size | 6.5 to 6.82 in |
The ranked list holds smartphones only, because the ranking orders on battery capacity first and a keypad phone cannot compete on it.
Two kinds of phone at one price
Under Rs 20,000 is not a single market. Keypad phones and smartphones are sold side by side here, so one price band holds a 1.8-inch screen and a 6.8-inch one. Which of the two a buyer wants is the first decision at this price, ahead of any specification.
What you must accept below Rs 20,000
A smartphone at this price is chosen around its battery, and everything else is fitted to what is left. The camera will disappoint indoors. The processor is picked to reach the price rather than to last, so it is the first part of the phone to feel old. Software updates are short and rarely promised in writing.
Above this band, those compromises start to ease among the best mobiles from Rs 20,000 to Rs 30,000.
