Galaxy models to weigh against each other

What each Galaxy series is built around

Each Galaxy series has its own job. The A series covers the mainstream and the M series is built for battery life, with 5,000 mAh its usual capacity. Galaxy S carries Samsung's flagship hardware, and Galaxy Z folds.

The A series is Samsung's widest line. About half of its current models have an AMOLED screen. The upper ones, such as the A55 and A73, add IP67 water and dust resistance.

Galaxy S is the flagship line. Every current model has an AMOLED screen at up to 120 Hz and almost all are rated IP67 or IP68.

Galaxy Z is the folding line. The Fold opens out to a tablet-sized inner screen; the Flip folds a full-size phone in half.

Why an M, an A and an F can cost the same

Below Rs 100,000 the series letter does not set the price. The M, A and F series have medians of Rs 44,999, Rs 58,499 and Rs 58,999. All three meet at Rs 29,999, Rs 59,999 and Rs 60,000. Above Rs 100,000 the letter counts: no Galaxy S costs less than Rs 107,999 and no Galaxy Z less than Rs 173,999. Those two lines hold almost the whole range above Rs 200,000.

Common questions about Galaxy prices

Where do Samsung prices start in Pakistan?

The Galaxy A02 costs the least, at Rs 16,699. Every Samsung under Rs 20,000 is an A-series model: after the A02 come the A03 Core at Rs 18,500 and the A02s at Rs 18,599.

What is One UI on a Samsung phone?

One UI is Samsung's interface on top of Android, with its own layout, settings and apps. Its version follows each phone's Android release. Lower-priced Galaxy models run One UI Core, a lighter edition with fewer built-in features.

Which Samsung phones work with the S Pen?

The S Pen works with the Galaxy S Ultra models from the S21 Ultra on. The S21 Ultra takes a pen sold separately; the S22 Ultra and later carry one inside the body. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 to Fold 6 work with a Fold edition of the pen. The A, M and F series do not support it.

Which processors do Samsung phones use?

Galaxy S phones use either Samsung's own Exynos chips or Qualcomm Snapdragon. Which one depends on the model. The Galaxy Z foldables run mostly on Snapdragon. The A, M and F series add MediaTek to the mix, and MediaTek is the most common chipset across the current A range.

What is the difference between Samsung Galaxy S and Galaxy Z?

Galaxy Z costs more for its hinge. It starts at Rs 173,999 with a median of Rs 393,999, against Rs 107,999 and Rs 238,999 for Galaxy S. Both lines share AMOLED screens at up to 120 Hz, so most of that gap pays for the folding hardware.
